Abstract:
Encouraging Students to Discover Their Passion and Talents

Having taught in Taiwan for the past 25+ years, one thing I’ve noticed again and again
is how many of my students have absolutely no interest in their major or their studies. They
are there because of their Joint College Entrance Exam test score. Inside of them are hidden
treasures that are left unexplored. In this break-out session, participants will be involved in
small group discussion and activities that will prove helpful as “treasure hunting tools” to
encourage students to discover their talents and gain a passion for learning in the process.

鼓勵學生發現自己的熱情和天賦

在臺灣教了 25 多年的書，我一再注意到很多學生對他們的主修或所學的，一點興
趣都沒有。他們之所以選這個科系，不過是因為大學學測的分數。他們裡面有著尚未被
發掘的寶藏。在這段小組時間內，參加者會參與小組討論，以及參與「尋寶工具」活動，
有助於鼓勵學生發現他們的天賦，並且獲得學習的熱情。
