that  He  was  to  be  withdrawn  as  the  Indweller  of  Christ‘s  own,  before  the  desired

                   conclusion of the rapturists could be arrived at. But it could as well mean that in the
                   latter  days  of  Apostasy  the  Holy  Spirit  would  gradually  recede  in  His  active
                   conviction of the sons of men, as in the former days before the flood God said: ―My
                   Spirit shall not always strive with man!‖

                     Assumption  number one, then, is that the Holy  Spirit  is referred to.  Assumption
                   number two is that He is referred to as the Indweller of His people and not as the
                   Convicter of the world. Do you see then, dear reader, that even if the translation were
                   right, one would have to allow of two unproven premises before we could begin to

                   conclude that the rapture of the church was being taught in this passage. Such is the
                   woeful weakness of the position of the pretribulation rapturist, when this scripture has
                   to be his Golden Text.
