Topic Introduction:

Do Christian schools make a difference that can be observed years after graduation?
How do they compare to Christian students who attended other kinds of schools? This session
will answer the question, Do Christian schools accomplish their purpose of producing young
men and women who are committed followers of Jesus Christ?

Topic Abstract:

Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent on Christian school tuition each year. What
difference does it make? This presentation will look at research which answers the question,
“Do Christian schools accomplish their purpose?” ACSI participated in a large research study
involving thousands of young adults who attended different kinds of schools. The study
compared Christian students who attended government schools, Catholic schools, home
schools, private non-religious schools, and conservative protestant schools. Statistical
methods were used to limit the influence of non-school effects, such as economic level, type
of family, and other variables. The results were very encouraging, showing that Christian
schools are more likely to graduate young adults who are more likely to attend church,
contribute more to their churches, maintain the faith, and contribute positively to society.
