Honorable Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good morning. It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome all of you on behalf of the
organizing committee of the “International Conference on Christian Education 2016.” I also
express my gratitude for the help and support we have received from our sponsors and
co-organizers.

The theme of this conference is “Laying the Foundation for Christian Education: The
Mission, Vision and Development of Christian Education in Asia.” We are honored to have
with us Dr. David K. Wilcox, Dr. Jim Drexler, and Dr. Joseph Kim as our keynote speakers.
Dr. David K. Wilcox, the assistant vice president of the Association of Christian Schools
International will address the topic of “Christian Education: What Difference Does It Make ?”
Dr. Jim Drexler, the dean of the graduate school of education at Covenant College, Lookout
Mountain, Georgia, USA. will address the topic “Christian Teachers: How Are They
Different ?” Dr. Joseph Kim, the headmaster and chaplain of Central Christian Academy,
Suwon, Korea, will speak on the topic “The Church and Christian Schools: How Can They
Work Together to Build God’s Kingdom?” In addition, there are also 35 other sessions on
special topics, which cover the areas of higher education, Christian schooling, Biblical
foundations, starting and leading Christian schools, teaching and learning, teaching English as
a foreign language, technology and the Christian school. Our thanks go to all the session
speakers. We pray that God will lead and bless this conference and make it a starting point for
a strong Christian education movement in Taiwan and Asia.
