Annual Library Assessment Report 2025

history of Tamsui, northern Taiwan, and Taiwanese heritage using storytelling and singing
                    formats.

From December 5 to 7 (Thu–Sat) — including the afternoon of the College’s Anniversary
Day — the Library, together with Tamkang University, will present the “Flying Across the

Twin Cities: Keelung-Tamsui Metaverse VR Exhibition” and a poster exhibition on our
campus. Faculty and students will have the opportunity to explore immersive VR
experiences focused on two 17th-century European-style forts in northern Taiwan during

                    the Age of Exploration:
                    - San Salvador Fort on Heping Island, Keelung (now lost to history)
                    - San Domingo Fort in Tamsui (the predecessor of today's Fort San Domingo)
By combining metaverse technology with historical reconstructions, visitors can "travel
back in time" to experience these historical cities firsthand. Participants can also enjoy a

fully immersive XR360 VR motion chair, simulating a flight over the twin cities of Keelung
and Tamsui — offering a near-real sensation of flying over the area in a light aircraft. This
exhibition aims to deepen awareness of cultural history among students, faculty, and the

public, promoting memory preservation and the dissemination of historical knowledge. It
also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially:
SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 17 –
                    Partnerships for the Goals

To encourage engagement with library resources, the Library will also host a series of fun
                    and educational events, including:
                    - “Spot the Difference” Quiz Game with prizes for learning about library usage

                    - DIY Succulent Plant Workshop with instructor Mr. Ch’i-Ming Cheng, accompanied by a
                    thematic book exhibition
                    - The most popular activities every year:

                    and evaluation.
